Food quality is seen in Brussels not just as a duty, but as an art in itself.

The "Made in Brussels" label is used for many leading products:

  • meat, whose quality is guaranteed by meticulous attention to its traceability and the stringent health regulations;
  • ready-made dishes: based on highly-specialised know-how and focusing on the specific needs of the customer;
  • chocolate, and the equally famous "pralines" (soft centres) exported to every corner of the world;
  • biscuits (like "speculoos", a local product related to gingerbread);
  • beers ("lambic", a yeast-free local brew available as "gueuze", "kriek", "faro" and "framboise" - raspberry).
